Our History

Robert and Norma Goldman opened House of Bedrooms in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in September of 1960. The 12,400 square foot showroom offered the community a one-stop-shop with quality, fashion forward bedroom furniture and outstanding service. Selections were available for children and adults.

With the support of their sons and Robert’s keen leadership, the Goldman’s business grew rapidly. In 1997 the family opened a new 20,000 square foot master bedroom showroom directly next to the original showroom. The Goldmans then devoted the original store entirely to children’s collections and reopened as House of Bedrooms Kids, now the largest showroom for nursery and kids bedrooms collections in the state.

Through the years, the company has remained family owned and operated. Their philosophy of offering choice collections and exceptional service and value has never changed. The Goldmans remain focused on their specialty retailing and continuously evolve their merchandise mix and displays to maintain their leadership in the marketplace.
